September 2018: Dr. Lowe featured in an article about the long-term impact of the #MeToo movement on survivors who have spoken out for The Wrap, and quoted in an article about the mental health effects of mass shootings in APA's Monitor on Psychology.
August 2018: Dr. Lowe quoted in an article about the #MeToo movement in NY Daily News.
June 2018: Dr. Lowe quoted in an article on mental health after natural disasters on Brainfacts.org. Five lab members will be enrolling in new graduate programs in the Fall: Jame's Bailey (MSU's Clinical Psychology with Child/Adolescent emphasis MA program); Eva Carrier (UT Southwestern Clinical Psychology PhD program); Alexis Karpf (John Jay Forensic Psychology MA program); Jenna Pattison (Caldwell University Mental Health Counseling with Art Therapy specialization MA program); and Petty Tineo (MSU's Clinical Psychology PhD program).
May 2018: Lab members Brittany Gannon and Petty Tineo received their MA in Clinical Psychology (child/adolescent emphasis), and James Bailey, Eva Carrier, Alexis Karpf, Holly Kobezak, and Jenna Pattison received their BA in Psychology from MSU! Trauma & Resilience Lab research in progress on the mental health of first responders featured in an online article about the MSU Student Research Symposium and in MSU's research newsletter, Forward Thinking.
February 2018: Dr. Lowe interviewed on public responses to gun violence for FiveThirtyEight.
January 2018: Lab member Hannah Perkins received her bachelor of arts in psychology from MSU. A posthumous Masters degree in general psychology was also awarded to Tori Whiteman and accepted by her family on her behalf.
December 2017: Dr. Lowe's work feature in Maclean's article on childhood resilience.
August 2017: Dr. Lowe was quoted in an article about the potential impact of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program on children and families in New Scientist.
July 2017: Lab member Kaitlyn Komar was accepted into MSU's Masters in Clinical Psychology program, Forensic Psychology concentration.
June 2017: The Trauma & Resilience Lab's work as included as a feature article in the Spring 2017 issue of the MSU Alumni Magazine.
May 2017: Lab members/alumni Emily Baeli, Kaitlyn Komar, Katie Lam, and Emma Opthof received their bachelor of arts in Psychology. Dr. Lowe interviewed by Montclair Local about the television show 13 Reasons Why.
April 2017: Lab member Emily Baeli will be attending the MSU MA program in I/O Psychology, and lab member Emma Opthof will be attending MSU's Masters in Public Health program. Both will start their graduate programs in the Fall 2017 semester. Dr. Lowe was quoted in an article on genetic ancestry testing in Tonic, a VICE news channel. An article about the lab's collaboration with Dr. Kate Walsh at Yeshiva University was featured in TheMontclairon.
December 2016: The Trauma & Resilience Lab was featured in the Fall 2016 edition of MSU's research newsletter, Forward Thinking; Dr. Lowe's work on how schools can respond to disasters featured on the Georgia State University School of Public Health website. Lab member Katie Lam was accepted into the Masters program in Industrial Organizational Psychology at New York University and will be starting in the Spring 2017 semester.
